Darryl Sutter Hopelessly Compares Flames to One of the Worst Teams in the League

After big off-season moves, the Calgary Flames are struggling. Head Coach Darryl Sutter has now compared the Flames to one of the worst teams in the league.

Flames, in the Same Tier as the Anaheim Ducks

Darryl Sutter is one of the more controversial head coaches in the league. He's had great success, and down years, but this might be his worst.

It's hard not to feel like he's lost his locker room, and he's certainly not maximizing players like Jonathan Huberdeau. His most recent comments hit especially hard.

After a 3-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks, Sutter hopelessly compared the Flames to the bottom-feeding team.

In the post-game interview, a reporter asked Sutter if the Flames were playing down to the Ducks, who aren't in the playoffs. He immediately replied back:

Well, neither are we.

Sixteen make it, 16 don't. That's why we do it every night. I don't put a whole lot into that, at all. I don't think there's enough of a gap.

Top defenseman Rasmus Andersson equally shared his frustration after losing to the Ducks:

Honestly, I'm so frustrated.

We didn't score. It's the easy way to say it � we just didn't score today. We had a lot of looks. We're dominating the game in the third and we can't get the tying goal or the leading goal.

It sucks.

Andersson isn't a a scorer, so his frustrations make sense.

The Calgary Flames are falling apart, and it's starting to seem like Darryl Sutter isn't the man to get things back in motion.
