This transaction was first announced back at the trade deadline, but the full details have just been revealed. In exchange for goalie Joonas Korpisalo and defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov, the Kings sent Jonathan Quick and a conditional first-round pick in 2023 to the Blue Jackets.

The great news for Columbus is that the condition on the first-round pick has been lifted. With the Kings having officially qualified for the 2023 playoffs, the Blue Jackets will now receive L.A.'s first-round pick in 2023.

This is a huge deal for Columbus, especially as they're in the running for top prospect Connor Bedard. The addition of this first-round pick means they'll have the chance to draft some exciting new talent in the highly-touted 2023 class. So Blue Jackets fans, get ready to see some fresh faces on the ice soon!
